This policy explains how GetKG Ireland (ie.getkg.com) handles personal data, in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Irish data protection law. Last updated: 18 October 2026.
Who we are
GetKG Ireland is a free information website run from Ireland. Contact: cyberiper@gmail.com.
What we collect
- No account is needed. We do not ask for your name, email or phone to use the site.
- Server logs: our host keeps standard technical logs (IP address, browser, pages requested) for security and to keep the site running. They are deleted automatically.
- Analytics: if you allow analytics cookies, Google Analytics (via Google Site Kit) counts visits in aggregate. If you refuse, it is not used for you (Google Consent Mode).
- Your location: the “Near me” and “My location” buttons ask your browser for your position. It is used only in your browser to sort places and towns and is never sent to or stored by us.
Third-party services your browser contacts
To show maps, weather and photos, your browser loads data directly from these services. They receive your IP address and normal browser information:
- OpenStreetMap and CARTO — map tiles
- RainViewer — rain radar images
- Open-Meteo — weather forecast data (the coordinates of the towns, not your own position)
- cdnjs (Cloudflare) — the map library (Leaflet)
- Wikimedia — links to photo credits and Wikipedia articles
- Google — Site Kit, Search Console and, with your consent, Analytics
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to object to processing and to complain to the Data Protection Commission (dataprotection.ie). Email us and we will reply within one month.
Changes
We will update this page if anything changes and show the new date at the top.
